Steve Mescan
is an eleven year veteran of the
Pittsburgh Police Department and is currently assigned to the SWAT Team.
He has been assigned to the SWAT Team since 1999 and was assigned as the
lead trainer in 2000. His
instructional background includes defensive tactics, firearms, law and
liability, use of force and all facets of SWAT operations.
Steve has testified as an expert in SWAT related cases and has worked
with other officers in his department regarding the evaluation of officer
involved shooting and use of force. Steve is one of three assigned training team
members and is responsible for monthly SWAT training and acts as a team leader
on SWAT deployments.
